Shorebank Enterprise Group's (SEG) Workforce Solutions links employers with the workers they need to grow their businesses and create wealth in our neighborhoods. The vast majority of employers in our community are small, with less than 10 employees; most lack the resources necessary to effectively recruit, screen and find qualified employees from the local community.

Workforce Solutions staff continually analyze regional and neighborhood labor market information — we know the type of economic activity that drives our Priority Area neighborhoods and we know our employers. When businesses and entrepreneurs need talented, motivated employees, our workforce program assist them with finding and hiring the type of workers they need.

Workforce Solutions has relationships with Cleveland's workforce preparation organizations such as Cleveland Works, the Center for Employment Training, the Neighborhood Centers Association, Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland, Towards Employment, Vocational Guidance Services, Empowerment Zone, Jobs Partnership Cleveland and other faith-based organizations. This enables us to link neighborhood businesses and entrepreneurs with training providers who can screen potential workers and find the right match between what employers want and the local pool of skilled workers.

We also stay in touch with neighborhood employers as they build their workforces. We help them assess the need for additional training. We can refer workers who need advanced training to Cuyahoga Community College, the Cleveland Municipal School District, CAMP, Inc., and other learning institutions. Workforce Solutions also maintains ongoing relationships with organizations and city and county programs that can help workers find the support and services they need (such as childcare, uniforms, financial planning assistance, and transportation) to succeed and advance in their careers.
