The South Collinwood neighborhood, which is home to almost 15,000 Clevelanders, became part of the City of Cleveland in the early 1900s.

Its major manufacturing facility employed 7,000 people in the 1920s and that number doubled during World War II. The facility closed in the 1980s, resulting in a significant loss of jobs. South Collinwood's "Five Points" retail district has recently been improved with the addition of a new fire station and a restaurant.
