One of Cleveland's newest neighborhoods, Buckeye-Shaker, was developed in the early 1900s and is home to over 16,000 residents. The neighborhood is best known for Shaker Square, one of the country's earliest planned shopping areas (built in the late 1920s). Over 3,000 units of multi-family housing-the largest concentration in the city-are within walking distance of Shaker Square.

In recent years, the neighborhood has benefited from the development of a 120,000-square-foot shopping center and a surge in storefront renovation. Both of these enhancements are helping ensure that the Buckeye-Shaker neighborhood remains economically vibrant in the future.
